Positive Aging

Look and feel your best — in your 20s, 40s, 60s, and beyond

The only thing we can know for sure about the future is that it’s unpredictable, but we can do our best to prepare for it.

You’ll often hear us talk about our 360 approach. The health of your skin is intricately connected to your overall wellbeing. Your routine, skin health, genetics, anatomy, medical history and personalized goals all impact which individual program will be most effective.
However, age is one of the most influential factors when determining which clinical treatments and at-home products will help you age with confidence. Our holistic approach considers three key phases:

Positive Aging in your 20s & 30s

Patients in their 20s and 30s have youthful skin, but by taking a few small, preventative measures, they can get ahead of the reparative goals they’ll have a few decades away.

At this phase, our primary objective is to help our patients get to know their skin type, in order to build a simple, repeatable routine that will allow for conservative and low maintenance treatments, while time is still on their side.

Areas of focus

Prejuventation focuses primarily on protecting against sun spots and other sun damage, preventing the development of fine lines and wrinkles, and preserving collagen and elastic fibres before they begin to break down, by means of minimal, conservative treatments, just once or twice per year.

  • Baby Botox

While you may not have deep set wrinkles to worry about, it’s normal to start noticing a few unwanted lines in your 20s and 30s. With so many years of youth ahead of you, conservative Botox treatments can help you look — and feel — your age.

  • Microneedling

By creating a series of tiny punctures, microneedling instigates your skin’s natural healing process, and encourages the production of collagen and elastic — two key ingredients for healthy-looking skin.

  • Hyaluronic Acid Microinjections

The body’s hyaluronic acid is largely what keeps your skin looking full and vital — but natural HA production slows over time, beginning in your 20s. Supplementing your HA levels with microinjections can help you to maintain that vitality longer.

  • Clear + Brilliant

You may find that one of the first signs of visible age in your skin is a dull, tired-looking finish. The Clear + Brilliant laser system helps to renew the surface layers of the skin, replenishing your natural glow.

This is a relaxed way to familiarize yourself with the potential of cosmetic dermatology — before existing issues add urgency or pressure to your decisions.

Modern Maintenance

Positive Aging in your 40s & 50s

Those in their 40s are often among our star patients. They’re committed to a dermatological program that will empower them to age gracefully and positively; they know that vibrant skin will require some work and they’re ready to invest the effort.

As patients advance into their 40s and 50s, their demands of a dermatological program follow suit. It’s at this age that collagen and elastic production begins to slow, allowing early signs of skin laxity and fine lines to appear. The skin starts to look tired, loose and dull compared to years past.

The majority of treatment throughout the 40s and 50s remains preventative — there’s still plenty we are able to do to reinvigorate the youthfulness these patients are used to. This period can lend itself to slightly more combative treatments at an increased frequency, as we address the skin’s natural changes with more gusto than before.

Areas of focus

Modern maintenance introduces conservative fillers to soften shadows, restore vibrance and encourage an overall healthy appearance. It can also include subtle, preventative skin tightening treatments so that future efforts can remain more conservative over time.

  • Botox

As common expressions start to make themselves more permanent on your face, regular Botox treatments can help to relax the musculature and avoid deep set lines from forming. Botox has been shown to improve overall skin quality and texture, and provide a subtle lift when applied strategically.

  • Belkyra

Regardless of how well you take care of your body, there are certain problem areas that will always plague us — for many, it’s the lower face and sagging jowls. Belkyra addresses this by eliminating stubborn fat cells to contour the area and transform your profile

  • Thermage

It’s no surprise that as you progress through your 40s, skin laxity starts to give away your age. Using deep heating technology, Thermage stimulates collagen production, resulting in a tighter, more refreshed appearance.

  • Sculptra

As hormone compositions change over time, it’s natural to notice that your skin starts losing its vital glow and natural volume. Sculptra boosts your body’s own collagen production. It’s particularly impactful when addressing more visible signs of volume loss, such as sunken cheekbones, templates, and eyes.

  • HA Fillers

Where traditionally, fillers were utilized to enhance lips and cheekbones in isolation, today’s advanced injectables can lead to an overall more vibrant natural appearance.

Patients entering their 40s and 50s are established, refined; they have achievements to be proud of, and deserve to face the world with confidence through some of the most rewarding years of their lives.

Advanced Approach

Positive Aging Beyond 60

Despite having long-established routines, our patients over 60 are often most willing to turn their regimens around in order to embrace time with confidence. They understand the importance of completing a series or program to bring the skin to its most healthy, vital state with treatments that tighten skin, restore volume loss, and give them a refreshed appearance overall.
We call this period “positive aging”. While we can’t escape the hands of time, we can work collaboratively to minimize its physical impacts to continue looking and feeling our best.

Areas of Focus

Positive aging typically focuses on loss of volume, resulting skin laxity, and textural and complexion changes that can cause patients to appear tired.

  • Combination Treatments

No two patients are the same, so why should treatment plans be identical? A combination program can include a variety of treatments and frequencies, specifically designed to accomplish a multitude of effects — ranging from tightening, to volumizing, to relaxing. Combination treatments will typically include fillers, neuromodulators and ultrasound or thermal technologies.

  • Ultherapy

Oftentimes, an Advanced Approach to combination treatments will include Ultherapy. This ultrasound technology is known as a non-surgical facelift for good reason: it targets and tightens the deepest layers of skin to achieve more significantly corrective outcomes.

  • Thermage

Thermage utilizes deep heating technology to combat skin laxity with tightening and contouring. As a non-invasive procedure, it stimulates collagen production and is the only treatment safe enough for the delicate eye area. The result: a gentle lift and an overall younger-looking appearance.

  • Panifacial

If fine lines and wrinkles aren’t a one-size-fits-all, treatments shouldn’t be either. The panfacial approach incorporates a customized dosage of injectable treatments to achieve optimal results for you, personally. Panfacial treatments include a combination of fillers and neuromodulators, providing striking yet natural results in a single treatment. This is a favourite among many patients.

We call this period “positive aging”: none of us can escape the hands of time, but we can work collaboratively to minimize the physical impacts in order to look our best, feel our best and continue living life to its fullest.
