Update from the Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress
I just got back from Monaco where I attended the Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress. It’s the largest conference of its kind with over 10,000 participants from more than 120 countries! The conference took place in Monaco, the world’s second smallest country next to the Vatican. Renowned for its super yachts, sports car and high fashion, it was quite the spectacle!
The conference itself presented all the latest and greatest in the cosmetic field. Companies shared new data, launched new products, and attendees discussed innovative techniques. Topics included shifting populations and prejuvenation for millennials; profiloplasty (improving your profile with things like hyaluronic acid), with an emphasis on facial shape and harmony; and methods for building the profile with hyaluronic acid fillers. Using filler to build a chin, jawline or enhance the profile of a nose is an increasingly popular request. Lips were another hot topic. I attended one session “lipstick in a syringe”, during which injectors from all over the world demonstrated their techniques for creating the “perfect pout”.
It was wonderful to catch up with colleagues from all over the world, share ideas, learn new techniques and of course explore the beautiful French Riviera. Until next year…
