What I’ve Learned This Year
As the year comes to a close, I always feel particularly grateful. Reflecting on the past twelve months, it’s easy to be thankful for the opportunities, lessons, and people that have come my way. One of the things I love most about what I do is how much I continue to learn from my patients — and 2018 was no exception.
Patients know themselves best
One thing I’m reminded again and again is that patients know themselves exceptionally well. It’s my role to understand the science and evidence, but it’s also important that I listen to my patients. If they have an intuition about their body — whether it relates to overall wellness, a specific treatment or the fit of a proposed plan — we both need to listen closely.
Volite is a game changer
Currently the most popular treatment in our practice, it really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to me that Volite is proving to be so impactful for our patients. This injectable treatment offers predictable skin quality enhancement. Smoother, more elastic skin, for up to nine months — who wouldn’t want that?
Belkyra goes beyond the double chin
The more jowls we treat with Belkyra, the more satisfied I am with the treatments and the more comfortable I become with the predictable outcomes. Jowls have always been challenging to treat without invasive procedures, and Belkyra has elevated the game.
The more I give, the more I receive in return
I’m sure that I get a lot more than I give. This year I’ve had plenty of opportunities to see how sharing clinical experiences, teaching, training and best practices leads to a cross pollination of ideas that equips me to provide better and better care to my patients. I’ve similarly continued to learn that you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Whether it’s my patients, who believe in their holistic wellness and conservative planning; my dedicated and brilliant team of women who care about our patients and one another; my peers, with whom I’ve forged meaningful friendships and professional relationships; or my family, who bring me more chaotic joy than I ever thought I could know, my life is truly enriched thanks to the people I share it with.
As the year comes to a close, I hope that each of you are able to find the same gratitude for 2018 and inspiration for the New Year.
